Reasons to be Saint
To be Catholic, you have to be a good Catholic, practicing Catholic, it is a matter of coherence.
It is like being a student, to be, you have to be a good student, because if you are not, you fail. Or being a worker, you have to be a good worker, because if you are not, you do not earn.
Something similar is being Catholic, if a Catholic is not good Catholic, he must go to hell, because he will be committing sins and some of them are deadly.
To be a good Catholic is not enough to be baptized, which is fine, but not enough to save his soul, which is his goal and to save his soul he has to do the Will of God, which is basically fulfill the Ten Commandments.
Fulfilling the Ten Commandments is hard, but if one knows it and exerts, he gets it. It's like getting perfect scores, it is hard, but if one knows to study and he exerts enough, he gets it.
If one is violating the commandments he will commit sins and if he has at least one deadly and he has not repented before dying, he will go to hell, and yet if he had only venial sins, he would go to purgatory, where he suffers as much as in hell and he must avoid it.
So if he has sins, he must repent and confess all of them the sooner possible, and repair them totally, because although all sins are forgiven, he has to be purified before dying, because he can not go to heaven until it he is completely purified, and if he dies without being completely purified, he will be purified in purgatory the remainder.
If he dies with nothing to purify he goes straight to heaven and becomes Saint, which is the main duty as Catholic and it is the greatest thing one can do in this life, due to Sanctity lasts eternally.
Maybe it is hard to do the Will of God, but if you exert asking help to God, you can become a Saint and go straight to the Altars.
